The route

The departure will be from Chongwe, more precisely from the Palace of Senior Chieftness Nkhomesha Mukamambo II and the arrival will be in London, for the Paralympics. On the way Matteo will pass through Eastern Province in Zambia, entering Malawi more or less at the level of Lundazi. He will then head North towards Mbeya in Tanzania, turning at the Uyole junction towards Iringa and Dodoma, then East until Arusha and the Kilimanjaro. From there he will cross the Kenyan border in Namanga, continue North to Nairobi, and the most feared leg Isiolo-Marsabit-Moyale at the border with Ethiopia. In Ethiopia Matteo will go up again North towards Yabelo, Hagere Maryam, Hawassa, Addis Abeba, Debre Markos, Gondar crossing the Ethiopia-Sudan border in Metema. Then he will proceed towards Khartoum passing Al Qadarif and Wad Madani, from Khartoum he will continue towards Al Dabbah, Dongola, Abri to reach Wadi Halfa where he will relax on the ferry to Aswan in Egypt. Luxor, Asyut, Beni Suef, Cairo, Alexandria will be the last stages before going back to breath the air of Europe.

The European stretch will start from Malpensa, and after a rest day in Legnano it will pass through Torino and then up along the pass of Moncenisio, through the border with FranceAlbertvilleAnnecyDijonReims will be the French stages until Dunkerque where the ferry will take Matteo and the bamboo bike to Dover.
